I have a nice RB in .43 Spanish. I've already "sporterized" it by cutting the barrel to 30" and shaping the forestock like that of a Trapdoor carbine. I still find it too long compared to my Sharps and Trapdoor carbines with 20", 22" and 24" barrels.
I don't know if I want to go that short with it. I believe that the late Dave Higginbottom offered his Lone Star RBs with 26" and 28" barrels. I'm thinking that he was on to something with the 26" offering. Shiloh offers a similar length on some of their models.
This will be a rifle with a hunting application, not BPCR silhouette, using the original rear sight with a silver blade front.
