If it's a long post and spelling is a concern I ususally write it in Word and then cut and paste it into a post.  Spell checkers will not catch everything either for example:

Sentence 1:

I am bringing the deed to your house.

Sentence 2:

I am bringing the dead to your house.

A spell checker would pass either sentence even though they have vastly different meanings.

Yep.  Have your internet connection crap out in the middle of typing a treatise "online", just once, and that'll become a regular practice.

Howdy!

We have considered the spellcheck, but with all the cowboy slangs and words we use, a spellcheck make a forum kind of boring....

Use Word or similar with a spellcheck.

I was whinin' around about it about 4 months ago..and we checked into a trial version .. being able to use it for a day.
 It was awful.
I mean it checked your spelling allright.. but the way I write and talk , it had every other word highlighted.
With all the yer's  and fer's and old west slang.. it was a nightmare to go through and pick out the few words that you actually were using proper English on.
We nixed it..and THAT took care of one more item on Marshal'ette's whining and nagging list.

And for that I know Marshal was grateful
