Uberti SAA Action Job Gunsmith recommendations
« on: August 11, 2013, 11:33:22 AM »
Just shot my Uberti 1873 SAA 38-40's for the first time with black powder.

One shot great and the other now has timing issues.

Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith for an action job and tune up?

Al, from your brief description it sounds like the gun was fine and then suddenly developed a timing problem.  This sounds like it is likely a broken or cracked spring or some other simple thing that can be easily fixed yourself.  If you can give a good description of the issue we can probably make recommendations.  If you do need to send it off, other good 'smiths besides those mentioned that come to mind are Bob James in Arizona and Lassiter (Tom Wildenaugh) in Ohio.  Alan Harton in Texas is very good but pretty backed up right now.

Where in that article does it address the timing of the gun?
