Winchester 1873 in action.....
« on: July 19, 2013, 09:20:49 PM »
Recently I visited a friend of mine who owns some property in the country. His grandson "Hunter" was there as was Anthony, a neighbor boy.

I happened to have my '73 Winchester Short Rifle with me (1882) with some original equivalent black powder cartridges along with some steel chicken silhouettes.

We set some up and the boys had a go at it.

First up was Hunter.  He took a little time before breaking the shot on the center chicken. ;D
Anthony was pretty quick on the trigger and nailed the left one. ;D
You may want to hit the replay to see that one again.

Now that's neat.  Hopefully they breathed deep of the smoke and have felt "the darkside"!  ;D

I'm working on a deal tomorrow for an 1888 vintage '73 short rifle in 38WCF.  I sure hope the rifle meets expectations. I've been wanting an original '73 for a long time.
