ZOOT SHOOTERS LONG RANGE SIDE MATCHES
All AZSA side matches will be divided into Men and Ladies categories with separate awards for both divisions.
RIFLE CALIBER RIFLES
Bolt, Lever, or Pump Action Rifles (rifle caliber): with iron sights

Scoped rifles:
Military: both semi-auto and bolt action rifles
Civilian: any scoped civilian rifle, regardless of action type
The riflescopes used on scoped rifles may be the older Malcolm type sights, with external adjustments such as Unertl, Litschert, F.W. Fecker, etc. Modern rifle scopes with internal adjustments, of the type commonly available in the 1940s may also be used. While there is no limitation on the power of the scopes, no variable power scopes are permitted. No battery powered scopes with illuminated reticles or red dot scopes are permitted.
PISTOL CALIBER RIFLES
Pistol caliber military rifles: For the submachine gun replicas like the Thompson, Sterling, etc. in pistol calibers like 7.62 X 25, 7.63 Luger, 9mm parabellum, and 45 ACP. M1 carbines are included in this class. Iron sights only.
Pistol caliber civilian rifles: For all civilian main match rifles used in zoot capers. This will include civilian auto rifles such as the Winchester models 05, 07, and 10. Iron sights only.
MATCH RULES
All matches are timed events, using hits to determine standing, and time used as a tie breaker.
Pistol caliber semi auto military and Pistol caliber civilian rifles 100 meters (or yards, depending on the range used) 18” target Standing position only
Bolt action and Semi-auto rifles (both military and civilian) 200 meters (or yards, depending on the range used) 18 inch target any position, with rests permitted. (except no bench rest)
Scoped rifles (both military and civilian) 300 meters (or yards, depending on the range used). 18 inch target. Any position, with rests permitted. (except no bench rest)
Rests: may be a temporary improvised rest such as a rolled up shooting mat, ammo box, shooting sticks, etc. Mechanical front rests like those used in bench rest, and NOT permitted. Bipods not permitted.

Small semiautomatic pistols and snub nose double action revolvers with a 3 inch or less barrel length. These little Roscoes must be small enough to fit in a Marsh Wheeling cigar box (7 ¼ X 5 ¼ inches).

Recommended ranges:
Belly guns are short range firearms and therefore distances should be limited to no closer than 10 Yards on steel targets (24 x 24 or larger) or closer on paper targets with scoring at the desecration of the match director
