Hi: May I join? New member of SASS, but been shooting Colt 1851 Navy and Colt Pocket Navy at rendezvous in the past. I just bought a Cimarron Richards Mason Colt conversion because I've always loved the Colt Navys! Thanks! Jamestown John
Hi again. Anyone here to let me know about joinin' up? I'll be going with a buddy to my first SASS shoot this weekend to watch and learn. I love my Cimarron Navy Open Top! Jamestown John

Interested in joining up here if possible. I shoot a pair of Open Top in .44 Colt. Was a Law Dog with over 25 years recently retiring and now trying to catch up things I never seemed to have time for.

Hey Medicine Bear Charley: I'm a new member here (I think) but haven't received any reply since Feb. when I posted, but I'll welcome you, if it's ok for me to do that! I shoot a Colt SAA and just got a Richards Mason conversion Navy. Been shooting a Colt 1951 cap and ball since around 1980 and love those "open tops!" Maybe somebody will say "howdy" if enough of us "sign up." Jamestown John

Do a Man With No Name get to be considered a conversion? If not? I guess I'll just have to save up and convert my matched pair of 51s.

I shoot a pair of Cimarron Navy Open Tops in .44 special with 7.5 inch barrels. Other guns may be faster, but few are better lookin than the Open Tops.

I just traded for a used pair of Cimarron 71/72 Army Open Tops in .45 S&W. The barrels look ok.
I know some controversy exists over the barrel throat strength of the Open Tops in any .45 cal.
I'm gonna give these a try. I like .45 S&W and have lots of brass.

I would like to become a member of this esteemed group. I acquired a pair of 1872 open tops this year with army grips, 7 1/2 inch barrels, in 38. And I absolutely love them!

Howdy doo guys.
Any open top style Colt is/are my fav handguns. From the percussions up thur the '72's. That was the height of style on Colt revolvers in my opinion.

Well I acquired a sequentially numbered set of RM 1860 Armies in 44 special and love them. I am currently loading 44 Russian BP and are getting used to them over my regular Vaquero 44's and Bisleys. I just love the style and pointability. If I can wring them out suffieciently for me, I'll bring them to Comin At'Cha. I'd be a member if they'd take someone like me.

Great to find this group!
Have two 7 1/2" early (Navy) ,38 OTs, and two 5 1/2" late (army) 45Colt for FC class (Have one 7 1/2 barrel, looking for another).
Also 2 5 1/2" Uberti 51 RM conversions in 38 - mostly smokeless classes.
Also have a couple pairs of Pietta 51s for Frontiersman.
I LOVE how these guns look and more importantly, point. Been picking them up when I find a great deal - far prefer the Navy grip w/long barrels.
Sign Me UP, Please!
Thanks, Harvey

I'm new to the CAS forums and I'm finding alot to like. I'd like to join this group too. I shoot many of the common Colt and repo cap and balls, in all of the original caliburs, and have finally gotten a 1872 open top in .44 Colt cal. I'm not a serious Cas competitor, but a b/p traditionalist that prefers to shoot period weapons in thier original caliburs and loadings.
