Brown Plaid Dress Pants?
« on: February 27, 2013, 11:07:18 PM »
Hi,

I have waited for over two months for James Country to get me a set of brown plaid pants (preferably with a gold plaid ... any suggestions?
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Hi

James Country seemed like nice people when I dropped by, but I've never done business with them.  I wouldn't be as concerned about getting your brown plaid pants as I would be about the fact that you WANTED BROWN PLAID PANTS.

 :o

Sorry, except for Tartans, me and Plaid ain't close.

Hey WWE,
I will second what C.O. Jones says.   I get up there every few months, they are a small operation, 1 seamstress.   Their quality is excellent and I have always had good service.  I would suggest a call to see where they are at on them, they have always returned any inquiry I have had.

Mogorilla,

I am guessing that the seamstress has written my off as a lookie-loo ...

(and not worth doing business with)

Tascosa Joe,

Sure, I would call them clown pants today  ,,,, all they need is the red bulbous nose, makeup and over sized shoes ....

I remember a pic of The king of England (before he abdicated) NOTHING in his whole out fit matched .... but in England, he was the Cat's Meow ....

WWE:
You ought to see some of the things Dr Bob wears to the NCOWS convention and to the national shoot.  He has a purple corduroy suit that he actually documented to somebody in the 1870's.

Tascosa Joe,

I already had bought some wool brown plaid pants (which isn't much of a problem... finding COTTON  ones are) ... I plan to wear them Easter Saturday for our OSLHP Easter Bonnet Promenade ... I am trying to keep every thing clean until I wear it (once it is on, all bets concerning cleanliiness is off ... *S*)

Here are some pics of last year's Easter Bonnet Promenade  (Notice the dapper fella in the red puff tie, black hat and brocade vest):

But I will put pics on to illustrate ....

Hi Joe, I didn't notice the comment before.

TRUE, but they also wore solids in butternut, brown, gray, and black.  I don't wear many plaids today, a few, but not many.  I do wear a lot of Maroon to match my first car, now I just like the color.

Hi,

As a miner-turned-townie my thought would be to imitate my 'peers' ...the gamblers, con men, grifters ... and THEY would have the plaids on for sure ....
