Question on 1st gen frames?

Were the frames on 1st gen 1873 Colt SAA frames  color case hardened?

The short answer is yes.  Nickel and silver plate were other options.  A few were full blue, but VERY few.  9 times out of 10 if you find a 1st Gen with a blue frame it has been refinished.
