Is AWA still in business?
« on: January 12, 2013, 10:56:57 PM »
AWA has a website that looks like it has not been updated since 2008 including pricing.  Does anyone know if they are still in business selling guns at this time?

No one has been able to get hold of anyone at AWA for a long time.  They have a phone number.  Try your luck and call and see if anyone answers.

Yes, things seemed strange when I called them and the phone just kept ringing no matter how many times I called or what time of day.

Would 2008 or 2011 be the date they went out of business in case anyone knows?

They were still in business in 2008 because I bought parts from them in 2008.  They started getting hard to get hold of in 2011 and quit answering the phones in early 2012.  I have two that are broke down and a friend also has two.  He finally got hold of someone in Florida that knew some of the former employees.  He said they told him their Italian parts supplier went out of business so they could no longer assemble guns.  I know the early gun parts were made by Mateba.  Don't know who was making the parts the last couple of years.  The only alternative now is to tig weld the original parts and re-machine them.

I called the number that was on the owner's manual of my AWA Longhorn. They answered and I placed an order for some new frame screws and received them without any problem. However, that was approximately one (1) year ago..I haven't had any contact with them since...good luck from the Heartland
