Grave marker out on a ranch north of Rocksprings, Texas I hunted on this spring, forgot to post it. Anyone with better detective skills have an idea of who they were?

Maybe
Jake Spoon, Dan Suggs & Roy Suggs ?

Gus McCrae: [Call is about to hang Jake] You know how it goes, Jake. You ride with an outlaw, you die with an outlaw. Sorry you crossed the line.
Jake Spoon: I never seen no line, Gus. I was just trying to get through the territory without gettin' scalped.
Gus McCrae: I don't doubt that's true, Jake

Lol it could be them old Suggs boys, though why we toted they're corpses back to Texas from Oklahoma territory is beyond me  Grin

The marker is about 200-300 yards from the Baker3 ranch headquarters, in the San Saba River bottom I believe. I'd have to check my gps I was using to scout with when I was out there.

I don't think the Rangers that hung them were too concerned with their identity. I know that I would not. Horse Thievin' in Texas  is a hangin' offense, just like Cattle Rustlin'.

On and off Rangers kept some records, usually not to elaborate but something. You might either contact the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco or the Museum at the University of Texas to see if there are any records. I have to believe that whatever is available is on the net somewhere.
