I have thought about doing this for a while.
Over on "The High Road" there are OFFICIAL threads for the different models so I am going to do the same thing here.
Many of us like to show off our pistols and this will give us a place to do so w/o "hijacking" our pards threads

Rules are simple with "no axe grinding" taking precedence, followed by "stick to the topic" (no other models posted, please), then if you want to stray off topic, please search for like posts and/or start one of your own.........

I love mine,have one long & one 5 1/2" honed action soffened hammer spring ( a little at a time), every one see's them thinks there neat & feel comfortable to hold, ,,,,,oh,,, 44/40's.

Just joined the group. I have (2) consecutive numbered, engraved, 7-1/2", .45LC, Uberti/EMF 1875 Remington Outlaws. These came to me in a "package deal" where I was buying some antique guns and these were just part of the deal. They look brand new and are in the original boxes, manufactured in 1993 and appear to have been in well kept storage since. Trying to find any info on them, contacted EMF but they could only give date of manufacture and configuration. I can't tell if the frame is Nickel or Silver. Again, any info on these would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy jimgh ! And welcome to CAS City forums

What you have there are "photo engraved" Outlaws (Uberti's version of an 1875 Remington). These are pretty common and I believe the frame is their "hardened" in the white finish. If you do some serching on here and other forums using the terms: remington outlaw photo engraved ......and maybe 1875 also you will surely find more posts showing that model.

I'm going to change my opinion and eat a little crow.........
I was basing my opinion on a pair of 1851 photo engraved Pietta's I have in the shop and never even clicked on your picture links.

I believe those are satin hard chrome or some proprietary version (like the Coltguard finish). They are too white to be nickle or "in the white" steel.

I have the catalog from which those came (sometime early 1980s EMF lists them as "custom entgraved" and else were it is listed as "factory engraved". It is not as shallow as the usual laser engraving.
In the next day or so I will scan and post the pix from the catalog for you. (and they don't indicate what the finish work is. I would like to see the area inside the frame or under the trigger guard. that finish is unique looking. It almost looks like a silver wash. But it is the finish shown in the catalog.

My 75' s are a consutive ser. no set of antiquie finished I won in a drawing. will also post pix tomorrow. as my typing shows it is bed time.

Really appreciate the help guys. I have a receipt for both guns that they were smoothed and tuned by a gunsmith when they were purchased new in early 1994. Hope these photos help.

I read farther back in the catalog and they indicate that they were nickel plated. I will post a couple of scans later. but for the time being here are my remmies. I won them and a Jesse James rig made by Will Ghormley (and Brad Pitt wore the rig preparing for the movie...it wasn't used in the actual movie cuz it wasn't antiqued.) anyways I got the whole kit and kaboodle for the price of ONE $10 raffle ticket.

So you think mine are nickel plated. Are these typical of photo engraving or something else? Appreciate all your help and look forward to the catalog cut.

Rowdy, shot them briefly when it was very windy and about 15 out, not exactly shootn weather. From what I could tell at that time, both shot a bit low and to the left. I just last week got them back from my smith for action jobs. They sure are smooth now. Waiting for better weather. Next stop for them is Eagle grips for some Black Pearl!

Is there a date anywhere on that catalog?

The 1875 pistols it shows are the older style with the "pinched" post type front sights which predate the OP's guns by many years....
I have owned a few of those and they were nickle (yellowish hue unlike the Op's pair) and while the engraving was deeper than your Great Western II they were not hand engraved.

Brace of Uberti Model 1875 revolvers I've been shooting for years now. Both originally had the "pinched post" type front sight, but I refitted each with a blade set into a slot in the original post base. Also, since I gather that many (if not the majority) of Model 1875 Remingtons were equipped with lanyard rings and I like lanyard rings .... yet for some reason no maker of reproductions has ever offered that feature on this model .... I purchased them from the "spare parts" available for Model 1890 repros and fitted them to my '75s -

That catalog dates back to about when I first got my ffl which was about 1982. I showed it to Debbie at EMF and she couldn't even put a firm date on it so it was just a guestimate basted on when I got my Dokota and the Kit.and most of those early ones had the "white" finish which seemed like a soft nickel finish.

Here are a few of my current 1875's (all repros):

This 45 caliber one came to me in parts with a "Burned" up barrel (the fellow tried to oxy/ace weld the sight back on after bending it to adjust POA).
I shortened the barrel to 6", which I believe is pseudo correct, installed dovetailed front sight, recrowned and then rechambered a 357 cylinder to 44 Colt heel base so it is now "convertable"!

This one is an early pistol, probably mid '80's, in 44-40. Notice the brass trigger guard. The blued steel trigger guard is a recent correction by Uberti (Rattlesnake Jack probably added those on his pistols above), I have a steel trigger guard and intend to defarb this one and reblue it w/o the color case on the frame one of these days........

This is an early (4 digit serial) factory nickle one in 44-40 with the Navy Arms roll mark on the barrel.
