First match with my custom Uberti Russians

Went perfect... ok.. well they shoot better than I do  
The gas collar modifications done to them by my gunsmith allowed me to shoot 6 stages of my APP powered loads without a hitch at all.
I never even wiped them down until the end of the match.
I love these guns

At the match, one of my pards working the unloading table, mentioned he wondered if there was a speedloader that would work on them. Ok... totally not period correct and could not be used while in the midst of shooting a stage; BUT... it could come in handy at the loading table.
I pondered the thought, and the next day went to fleabay and ordered a HKS 25-5. It arrived today and it works perfect!
I'll need to get a few to load up and leave in the gun cart for speeding up loading at the table.

I spoke with Lois and told her what I had and that their S&W grips looked like that they might work.
She asked me to send a tracing of my stock grips for her to compare.
She replied that they were very close,so I ordered a pair for each.
I ordered the ivory streaked color and asked her to make them different.
They add the streaking and the cracks themselves.
When they arrived, I followed their fitting directions and they were a snap to fit.
They are very much thinner than the stock wooden grips and I have found that I like the way that they feel and allow me to point much better.
They do a great job on their grips. The antiquing and staining that they do puts the darkness into the checkering.
They offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on the unmodified grips that they send you.
As long as you don't alter them, you can send them back.
There is slight casting flaw in mine that is visible at 1:00 on the top radius; but I like it... it adds character.

AB those are some pretty guns, even better when I seen em up close. Those are probably the most distinctive set of irons I've seen in quite a while. I like the way the gas check modifications were done. It was a pleasure shootin with ya taday.  WM

Many thanks for the information. I've made grips for some of my pistols out of Corian and would like to add checkering to them. I will contact Buffalo Brothers and see if they can help me.

I contacted Hap, he runs http://www.thesmithshop.com/
I was buying a grabber sight from him for my 1873 and asked him about the process he did.
He was very kind and gave me more information.
Taking all that to my gunsmith I showed him what Hap did and he performed similar work.
Hap has done this type of gas collar work to other model revolvers as well with great results.
