Django Unchained filming now....

I hesitate to call it western though it will be catigorized as one.
Bounty Hunter ex slave (Fox) set in post civil war Mississippi.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Don Johnson , Samuel L. Jackson & Bruce Dern
 Director is Quentin Tarantino

The movie app on my phone says Christmas.  I thought it was already about done filming.  Wife and I plan to watch it with an open mind.  We liked Inglorious Basterds so we will probably like this one and take it for what it is.  The days of real westerns we grew up with are long gone.

I recently purchased "Aces and Eights" on DVD. because I had heard about it, but not seen it. Little did I know, that one the stars of that would pass away last week. Ernest Borgnine passed away at the age of 95, from kidney failure. I enjoyed him in "From Here To  Eternity" and the TV show "McHale's Navy" He was a Navy veteran of WW2 and a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.   RIP  Bro. Ernest!

Many thanks for posting this. Just watched the trailer. Looks to be a pretty good movie.

There also is an article about this movie in the latest issue of Cowboys & Indians.

+1. Leonoardo de Craprio at his "best" (being a clown) in a Black Empowerment movie.  Blaxploitation is still alive and well and just as silly as it was/is in the 1970s
