To all, the Ia. muster was held on 10-Jun-12. Seven brave souls endured 90 degree heat and 20+mph winds in order to honor Ia. units during the civil war. For the first time GAF catagories out-numbered scouts, 5 to 2. A pleasant surprise was the uniform competition. Three contestants tied at the first vote, each was then asked to describe thier uniform, this did nothing to break the tie as each member had done thier research and was able to answer all questions concerning thier uniform. The final decision coming down to who had the oldest accourterment, an 1896 bayonet edging out a 1901 bayonet for first place. The results are as follows. SCOUT CLASS-- Southpaw (Pat Hurley) 540.55 / Shamrock (Pat Gannon) 646.50 MARKSMAN (sp) Drydock (Chuck Luetkemeyer) 339.16 / M.L. Roak (Matt Pierce) 458.98 MARKSMAN (bp) Eathon Talon (Len Abels) 617.87 INFANTRY Sgt. Tomas (Tom Snow) 311.63 STAFF OFFICER Sam Perfye (Al Weaver) 920.61. Field uniform- 1st---Sgt.
