My Thompson shipped from Buds yesterday, I should be picking it up on Monday.

I plan on getting several 20 round mags and modifying the mag catch to use them. Once the catch is modified, the 30 round mag that comes with the rifle will not be of any use to me.

If any of you are altering the mags to work with the catch rather than the option I'll be using, I'd be inerested in trading my 30 round mag for an unaltered 20 round mag. I would also be willing to sell the 30 round mag.

Like an idiot I modified all my mags years ago.  If I had it to do again I'd have modified the latch.

I picked up my Thompson today.  I've not yet had a chance to get to the range, but I must say that I am pleased with the rifle.  I have the 1927a1 with the detachable stock and an L drum.

I'll post photos once I have a chance to get my camera out.

I'll be placing an order for five (or more) 20 round mags and once I get them, I'll modify the mag catch to work with the issue mags.

How do you modify the mag catch? I have always just modded the mags.

The information is in the 13th post (reply #252) on this page and there are before and after photos.
