"The Wild Bunch"
« on: May 23, 2012, 08:43:45 PM »
Finally got around to watching the director's cut "The Wild Bunch" video I bought a while back ..... Ranks up there with "The Magnificent Seven" and "The Outlaw Josie Wales".

I think what I enjoyed the most was the relationship between the key players - William Holden and Robert Ryan; aging 'bad men' looking for a way out and unable to make a break from the past. The rest of the cast was also good Borgnine, Oates, Johnson.

I think the black & white "how it was made" was excellent as well. Damn good re-creation of a Mexican Revolutionary scenario and atmosphere. I've read a couple of books on it, and I know less now than when I started .....
"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do these things to others and I require the same from them."  John Wayne
