Another Belgian Bulldog question

Recently become interested in this genre of pistols.
She who must be obeyed buys me the book on this genre.
I get inspired and fall for these "ugly little guns".

I spend hours perusing the interweb trying to find out more about this genre.

2 months ago I purchase a .38 Belgian Bulldog in rough condition. Have it sent to a friend in USA until I can import it to New Zealand.

Apply to the firearms licencing body (NZ Police) for a collectors licence. Waiting now for this to be processed.

Problem;

As stated this pistol is in rough condition. It is my first so I want to play with it.

I have checked out with an engineering company here and for $50 NZ they will remove the last of the remaining nickle plating and replate it with new nickle silver after first copperplating the gun. This will ensure the plating sticks.


The bore is rough so I am looking at getting it drilled out and a liner installed.

Last problem is the perenial one.The trigger return spring is missing..

What I need is for someone to post up a picture of said spring so that i can look into manufacturing or adapting a new one.

'Most' of the trigger return springs are 'vee-shaped' - Dixie Gun Works usually has these, and sometimes, all you'll need to do is shorten a leg.

Get several...

These little revolvers are made basically of iron - be careful with your loads.

I'm a black powder shooter by choice so I will be loading these little guns up with such.

Wolffe Springs have a gunsmith pack of v springs.

Bound to be one or two in there I can make fit.
