What is the best place to purchase extra cylinders for an Uberti Colt's 1860 Army?
I am looking to buy a few extras.

Not trying to be sarcastic, but where ever you can find them.  Uberti parts have been hard to get for the past year.  For example, if you go to VTI's website and look at the Uberti 1860 Army almost every part has a note saying "Check Stock".  Almost every part with that annotation is out of stock.  I have had some Uberti parts on order for two years.

Thanks for the replies, I was hoping one vendor in particular may have a had a better stock and/or pricing.
So I will keep looking and finding them where I can.

Ditto on the "wherever you can find them".

Sometimes Taylor's has stuff, but most of the time you call them and they put your name on a list. The last time I did that they called me about a year later. In the mean time, Dixie Gun Works not only had gotten in cylinders, but actually ran a sale on them.

So, check Dixie, Taylor's and VTI and buy from whoever has 'em.

For what it's worth, Dixie's web site says they have some right now ($75 each).

I just bought a pair from Taylors and a pair from VTI.
The ones from VTI came with a bunch of surface rust (easily cleaned off).
The ones from Taylors came nicely wrapped in foam and were in excellant condition.  I think they were abot $5 cheaper too.

CAS participants shoot a lot of rounds during a match so some C&B shooters like to have extra cylinders pre loaded before a match. Then they can simply remove the expended cylinder and put a loaded one in at the loading table, instead of going through the whole loading routine each time they start another stage.

We in the... Once Great Britain cant be trusted with spare cylinders  iffn we do want them EACH ONE is classed as a seperate firearm and have all the paperwork-security that goes with it!!

Now for my 10-22 I can buy as many 10... 25... or even 50rd mags as I want!!  Go figure `cos we cant

You don't.

While there are some that choose to go to the extra expense and trouble to use extra cylinders - remember, you gotta clean themafter you've shot them; I've never shot with anyone that does.  With practice, it does not take any significant amount of time to charge the cylinders after shooting a CAS stage.

Fingers, I have never found it to be much of an advantage with the Colt style guns, to much trouble and expense, BUT have always done it with the Remington versions.  Colts require several extra assembly and disassembly steps in addition to their cylinders sometimes running almost double the price.  Cylinder clean up can become pretty fast with practice and technique also.   It is easily possible to shoot the Remington cap and ball revolvers at a match and never take any longer than the cartridge loaders to perform your tasks.  A few matches have way to few worker bees and way to many people with needs for working the loading/unloading tables,  most bigger matches that have few c&b shooters and dinosaurs do not notice this as much.  If old Eliphalet Remington had just spent a few extra minutes when designing his '58s grip frame we would have had pretty close to the best cap and ball six shooter existent!

Fingers will agree that with a little practice you can shorten the time required to load to less than two shooters thru the stage.
For my money Remingtons have a lot more difficulties that the grip frame.

Shooting frontiersman requires a little more time management than most other categories. My method normally is to use an unmanned loading / unloading table to charge my cylinders. If I am on a posse that is small, I will man the unloading table for three or four shooters and charge between checking guns. I agree with Noz, it doesn't take long to become proficient at charging the cylinders and it can be done in the time it takes to run two shooters through a stage. I also only have one cylinder per pistol and do not use a loading stand of any kind; they seem to slow me down.

I have no trouble charging my Remingtons, capping them is another matter entirely!!!
Spect that 'P' word would fix that.  Splitrail who took Plainsman at WR swears by one of those 2 finger cappers for a remington.
