Message to the Quartermaster:

Where might one procure the braid for an Officer's dress belt, sabre straps and Sam Browne Shoulder Strap (Indian War).

Sandy,
To the best of my knowledge there isn't a source for a good reproduction of the gold braid for the the officer's waist belt. I believe the snaps are available from S&S Firearms. I'm not familiar with the shoulder strap being used witht the officer's dress belt during the indian war period.

Do not have a clue where to get the braid.  I was able to get the proper 4 row company grade infantry officer belt with saber and sam brown straps from Coon Creek Old West.

Did he use gold (the metal, not the color) braid? I would bet that would be really pricey.  Shocked The only reproductions I've seen have been gold colored cloth.

Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.
