Anyone using the LEE .429, 200 grain, 6 cavity gang mold for their .44-40?  Thinking a casting, but don't want to mess with a luber/sizer.  I use LEE Alox tumble lube on other calibers.  Loading for a Marlin Century Limited and modern Italin 1873 Colt clones.

The LEE liquid alox works on any style of bullet using the modern fad powders.  I say go for it!

And you have a good mould when you do switch to real gunpowder.   A lubrisizer is optional as you could "pan-lube" or just rub it in like I often do

That same bullet has worked good for me with ALox and even with bp lube. I recently bought another mold from Acurate Molds, but I shall be keeping this one also.

I hate to admit I make a few smokeless bullets for Wild Bunch Cry, I use the Lee 6 cavity, however I do use a Star lubesizer and size them to .429. They drop at about .431 with a few .432, that's with an approx 10BH. Lee makes an inexpensive sizing kit for Alox if you need to size them. Most of the time I'm pouring big lubes for BP Grin Good Luck Smiley

I have bunches of hard cast bullets in unused calibers made with lead, linotype,  and wheel weights.  Dang cast bullets are getting way too expensive. Time to start casting again.
