When did .45 Colt cases switch to brass?
« on: February 24, 2012, 06:08:33 PM »
I know that the first .45 Colt cartridges were copper and were internally (bennet primed) until late 1874 when the government switched to the shorter .45 S&W.  When did copper cases give way to brass cases?

Also, I'm not sure where to post this.  Does anybody know where I can find a Frankford Arsenal .45 Colt cartridge, as well as a .45 S&W cartridge?  I've seen whole boxes for $450, but only want one or two cartridges.

Thanks,

Jared

You might try here for a single cartridge as I've seen there before.
