I have a 2002 model with the small firing pin. They are reputatedly prone to breakage. Bought my gun used, so do not know number of rounds fired by previous owner, but last trip to the range my firing pin broke. About 400 rounds down range by me. Mostly Black Powder. Still looking for that magic Minute of Angle load best so far 6 inch at 100 and 3-4 inch shooting smokeless.
The newer guns have a larger firing pin that is not supposed to break as often. I do not see any serious flaws in fit and finish
Also the newer guns have a 1 in 18 inch twist barrels.
Conventional wisdom states Armi Sports have a sloppy chamber and are unduly long. Well I did cast mine and it is 2.125 vs 2.130 factory spec for Pedersoli. My Pedersoli rolling block has a 2.129 chamber depth so my technique with a dial caliper must be decent as I am real close to the factory spec.
Additionally the Pedersoli uses a 45 degree taper down to something like .460 - .462. The army sports use a much sharper angle that gets down to the .460 ln half the distance.
