I fell sorry for this guy, but it's hard not to laugh:

Reminds me of a story a Dawson County Deputy told me - he ignored several calls about an emu running loose north of Gothenburg, when the Sheriff finally called on him face-to-face, he asked "can I shoot it?" When the Sheriff said no, he said "Then I'm not going out there - I don't want to have to tell anyone that I got my a$$ kicked by a big chicken."

That story has floated this far already.

Not so much as a snow flake yet & they've already called school off for tomorrow. Better than our last "snow day" - they waited till I was half way to town to make the call.

Dang, Rita needed some Benadryl tonight and I stopped at Super Saver after work. Gonna be some POed folks if this storm don't hit, they were gettin' low on some things already. Almost no milk, eggs, or bread, gonna be a lot of French Toast bein' made.
I got maybe 20 loaves in the freezer, always have canned milk in the cupboard and bought 2 dozen eggs the other day, did buy some cheese that was on sale. Got some extra flour, if the lights go down and I have to heat a bit with the oven I might as well make more bread.

The Cawfee is hot and ready this morning. It's already 63 and the sun isn't up yet. I finished off the Tortilla Soup last night. Moose fell asleep on the loveseat and didn't eat supper. I sure would like to "raid" Del's freezer for some of that good bread he makes. It's been too long since I tasted some.

Folks.....
In all sincerity, I know of no man who has done so much good for so many people. He even had his own brand of coffee, Uncle Pete's Coffee.
I could tell many stories. Embarrassed my young ass in court more'n once – I deserved it too.
He fought for as long as I've know him against childhood cancer. Raised millions of dollars for research. That horrible disease took his life.
Rest in peace, Uncle Pete. You will be sorely missed.

Prayers up Arcey, funny how you get to like the person you didn't like when you were younger. I felt the same why when Officer Crastil passed from the same thing a few years ago, the motorcycle cop who gave me my first and only speeding ticket and the same for a lot of my friends. He worked the area around my High School.

Seldom hear such high praise for a lawyer/judge - always sorry to hear of the loss of one of the good ones.
The snow made it. Technically not a blizzard yet, wind's only about 25 mph, tallest drift I can see from the window is only about 3 feet. A good day to stay indoors.

41 WC 31 here, still drizzling, stuff went south of us but seems to be circling around from the east, same pattern as the Christmas 2009 storm, gonna toss some extra cement blocks in the back before I leave.

It's sourdough again, sourdough is so fantastic for rye bread, both in flavor and the way it makes the texture so much nicer than using yeast. It's raining and humid here today, it didn't crack and split like the stuff I've been making, I had a loaf at work last night and I commented on that. Joe told me not to worry , he said if you go to the fancy store that makes expensive artisan bread , most of it is that way. Gee I didn't realize I was being fancy, I thought it was just plain ol' homemade bread.
