I've read the threads about lightening the trigger pull on the Spencer. I would prefer to send my Spencer to a competent gunsmith to do the work. 

Has anyone used Cody Conagher? He is close to me and I could easily get the carbine to him. Any other suggestions/recommendations?

Has Cody worked on Spencers before?  Did you contact him yet? If you haven't yet, my suggestion would be to find out if he is agreeable about doing the work and knows how.

I don't know who Cody Conagher is, by the way.    Whoops, just visited his web site, I guess he knows his stuff, but no mention of Spencers that he has fixed in the past.

Cody has indicated he can and will do the work. He is close to Taylors and can pick up the gun from them, do the work and then ship to a FFL.

Mine was ordered from Cimarron since Taylors is still on backorder. I'm about 90 miles from his shop. I may drive it up to drop it off and them pick it up in person.

Just an update to the forum. I received my carbine today. I don't have a way to measure the trigger pull, but after his work ,it appears to be around 5 lbs. The action was smoothed along with the lightened trigger pull and it functions great.

I didn't want to work on the spring myself since i have no experience in removing metal for a lighter pull. I am well pleased with his work and the price for tha work.
