Gentlemen (and the occasional lady).

I FINALLY decide to start doing something with the business name and license I've had since 2008.  For now its limited to a little research projects and getting rid of stuff I have extra of.  This will include military history related items, original and reproduction, books to guns, new to used, high quality to sutler row garbage, 1776-present.

Right now I am operating off my Facebook Page "F Troop Company".  Please "Like" it and see what I have.  I am also on ebay and gunbroker as WIWD.  If you win an item from me and mention you are a member of the GAF...I will give them item to you at the next lowest bid or 10% off (whichever is a better deal for YOU).

It will take some time, its a work in progress.  I have BOXES of stuff here and in storage and that doesn't include all the boxes of good stuff that I am no longer interested in or streamlining!  Check back regularly.

Here are the "prototypes" of a reproduction M1864 Mann Pattern Infantry Set and Cavalry set I just received.  Overall they are quite nice and the stamp turned out GREAT.  There needs to be a little better hardware on a couple parts, but the leather is very accurate and the workmanship is grand (even the tins are correct).

The Mann's gear was patented in 1863 and the army order several thousands for testing in 1864/5.  After the war several of the belts were "recycled" as I have seen some ID'd to post war regular units and the distinctive hourglass brass belt loops have been dug at several Indian War's posts (I have seen several in private collections, museums, and I personally own one dug in New Mexico).  The cavalry cartridge boxes and pistol boxes are often encountered with the built in shoulder straps removed and occasionally with wood blocks for .50-70 ammo added.

As it stands I am not carrying these in stock (yet) and the price is pretty hefty (I am pretty sure the cost of the special stamping dies has alot to do with my guy's costs).  But right now we are looking at $400ppd either set (there is ALOT of handwork as each tin and most of the hardware is hand made).  As I work with him on better brass buttons the price may go up a little, it may go down a little.  We'll see.

So not trying to be TOO self serving here, but I am finally starting to get things listed on the Facebook page and ebay (hopefully the weather will clear so I can get some really good pics of this I will put on gunbroker.  Most of the stuff it a little later than we deal with, but there are a few things and I know I will be running across more soon.  Love this sorting!

Just find F Troop Company of Facebook, "Like" and hit photo albums.  Also if on ebay or gunbroker, look for WIWD under seller searches.

They CAN be!  LOL!  Wink

I will be adding a few more arms over the next month.  One .38 Colt DA needs a trip to the gunsmith first.  I WILL have a M1888 ramrod bayonet trapdoor for sale too.

I WISH I could find a bayonet for my M1888 Commission Gewehr (Rifle).  They use the old style brass sword-types and the last I saw of one went for over $500 and was pretty beat up!  Heck, I only paid $27.88 for the rifle back in 1974!  It's one of the 1903/5 or so) Turkish converts, but it still proudly has the original Regimental markings it had when first issued!

If you shop REAL hard you can find them for $250.  There are also repros out now that run about $125.  Both the regular style and the sawback.  I have an unconverted G88 for sale and if I like the repro bayonet I will sell mt original too.
