...an AZSA match in central Nebraska? I think I could get one put together if there's interest.

Good luck, I hope there is more interest in your area than there seems to be in Indiana.

You may be O.K. if you have a pre-1950 stlye pistol caliber rifle and handgun 32 ACP or larger are all that's needed. Lever guns used in CAS would be perfect as would single or double action revolvers. 1920s to 40s clothing and shoes are not much different from a lot of inexpensive work clothes today. Walmart and thrift shops are a place to look if you need anything.

Hold up a map, put your finger right where you think the center of the state is and you won't miss Sargent very far. It'd either be just north east of Sargent or a little west of Ord.

Exactly!
That's one of the reasons I was interested in it. I had a 1873 Winchester clone for CAS, a 1911 for WB. I also had a Semi only Thompson (just because I had the chance and it was cool). I bought a pair of bib overalls and found a beat up old hat and now I'm a moonshiner. Cheapest shooting sport I ever started doing. I recently added a 1905 S&W double action.
Stu, I think I could let you use one of my pistols and I know you already have a rifle that would work.....Wait a minute, What am I saying loan YOU one of my guns!?
That's just asking to have someone use one of my guns to make me look silly.

How silly could you look in bib overalls? I'll wear mine too, & I'll already have a six-shooter there, but I'll bring along some .45 acp in case you decide to let me shoot your 1911.

Did you notice that I'm already assuming that you'll take Bow View's advise & schedule it next to the GAF muster?

The shotgun is not a required peice of equipment. But I'd bring one along just in case. The 30 inch 1897 is proably more authentic than for a bootlegger or moonshiner than a short barrel gun.

I know the Zoot match attached to the GAF muster has been canceled but I am still curious. Is a m1 carbine acceptable? It is not technically "Pistol caliber" but is sure is a lot like one.

I don't see anything in the rules that would rule it out.

I'm sure most of you have seen the "Quote of the day" thread in which I discuss attending my son's NG graduation in SC. Because of this trip, I'm going to have to cancel the informal Zoot Shooting match. Now to make certain I'm clear on this, I am NOT canceling the main GAF match, I'm just canceling the ZOOT match on Sunday afternoon.

I think the M1 carbine is like the .351 Winchester Model 1907, it is a pistol type cartridge primariliy used in rifles. To my knowledge there has never been a pistol or revolver chambered in .351 but there are some in 30 carbine. My only concern is to have a reliable lead or low power reload to shoot at metal targets at 25 Meters. The Speer 100 gr "plinker' bullet would be perfect.

The low power lead round is no problem. I developed a light load using a lead bullet that had no recoil and still cycles the action. I developed it for my son when he was young and afraid of recoil. The carbine was his favorite but he was intimidated.

I did the same with my stepson, he's had an m1 carbine for several years and now shoots regular factory ammo, but the first loads were low power lead. Great little guns those m1 carbines.

If you know Gringo Jack I think you could get him to play. He drove to Colorado a year or two ago with his Thompson for an AZSA match.
