Nipple Insertion and Never Seize

Hi,

Back in the air-cooled/aluminum head VW Era, we used to use a product called Never Seize to prevent the spark plugs from welding themselves to the aluminum heads. The stuff had the consistency of thin plumbers putty and one coated the threads to provide a 'barrier' if you will between the plug and the head. It was meant to stay stable at very high temperatures.

I am thinking this is what I should coat the threads on my nipples with .... has anyone ever used this or any buffering agent when putting on nipples?

Absolutely!  Everyone that shoots C&B regularly uses anti-seize on the nipples.

If you are on a champagne budget you could buy choke tube anti-seize stuff.  For the majority of us get the off brand stuff for many fewer bucks. I'll have to look for my tube of anti seize lube, but all is not lost;

This is one of the ideas I get that is either insanely practical or just plain insane ... and it is nice to hear that others with much more experience  think along the same lines ...

Sir Charles,

I have blown my months Soc Security check on Christmas stuff. but you can bet I will be hitting up Amazon for some of that compound when I get my January checK ...

And thanks Pettifogger for giving me more faith in my judgement ... I thought this was a good idea, but then I thought putting peanut shaped foam in my waterbed was a good idea too (not!!! don't try it *S*)

WWE;  Try local before online purchases.  I'll bet the shipping on that $4 item would double or triple the cost!!  Any similar product will do, and you don't need much.
