Hi all! I'm planning my calendar for 2012. What gatherings/APS-SASS matches should I plan on attending in 2012? I live in California, and close is better, but I AM willing to travel! Thanks.

In 2012, the American Plainsmen Society will be holding its first of what I hope will become an annual event. This will be in October, near Kansas City. I'll post more after the first of the year, and as details become available. We will be doing some postal matches in 2012, as well.

In the interest of clarification, I should probably point out that the American Plainsmen Society isn't related to SASS in any way. It's an entirely separate entity.

Best,
Caleb

Caleb, are you planning the fall event. Do you have a date yet?

Trap:
From some earlier emails, we had hoped to strap hang with the KVC Buffalo Shoot.  If that is not doable let us know.

Oregon Bill -- I hope so. We're working on it.

Trap -- Basically what Joe said. I'm sending you a PM in about ten seconds.

As I just told Caleb, we have had fewer than 10 shooters at the last two shoots so we haven't put it on the schedule for '12. this could be changed if there is enough interest.   jt

This shoot is on my bucket list of things to do before I get too old to do anymore.  If it was switched back to 1st or 2nd week end in Oct, I plan on attending.  The Good Lord Willing.  I know Pancho wants to come, but being a Dr sometimes his life gets messed up by unforseen things.  We can talk more at the convention.

I would think 10 primative camps would be a hoot whether we shoot much or not.

I am looking at putting on a TAPS event. The first thing that has to be done is to set a date. The KVC is putting on the GAF grand muster the first week in Oct. so that is out. I am looking at either the wknd of Sept 22 or 29. The KVC will also sponsor the event so the event will have insurance. If you are at least 50% sure you will be able to make the event, let me know which of the two dates would be best for your schedule. This would be a Thur. eve to Sun. timeframe.

I cant speak for the group, but I think I could make either weekend.  I supposed to finally retire in Jun, but this morning we were notified of a new project so I may put it off another year and if that happens Sep is out for me anyway.
We are doing the SW NCOWS Regional 3rd Weekend of Oct this year.   I know Caleb is really busy with his job right now, but may chime in sometime during the day.

The second wknd in Oct might also be a possibility.

Barring the unforeseen, I'll be there. Any of the above dates work for me.
