Got some more done on the bench yesterday tween the dishes, laundry and bakin' bread.  Left and overhang to allow the press arm to swing, 'bout 4".  Anyway I put 4 of these in, 2 on each side of the press to stiffen it up:

Press mounted and my chair, built the bench to work with that chair, was grandpa's:

When I get everything in and the wall up I'll move stuff a little and paint the wall, should have done it first but am undecided on color, common sense says white, but I'm not sure.  A retired Major friend of mine suggested grey like the bench top like a military armory, the floor will get that just because it's good to hunt little parts on.  Have thought about operating room green, that ought to give the guys at ACE a laugh. Grin

Yep, the old RCBS Jr is well used, have had it for 30 years and it was a used one when I got it.

We wound up with a large number of cardboard boxes after Christmas. We have a cardboard recycling area downtown, next to a fire station. I'm gonna tackle that tomorrow morning and get them flattened and loaded in the pickup and haul them off. It's up to 55 right now, hopefully it will get above 60 today and tomorrow. We've got a Bowl game to watch tonight, Baylor plays Washington in San Antonio. Moose graduated from Baylor. She was really excited when RGIII won the Heisman this year. I hope they do well tonight. Texas won it's Bowl game last night. I'm really hoping that Oklahoma State beats Stanford next week.

The 'chucker was a B'Day gift. So many years ago I don't wanna remember. It was new 'n I suppose someone'll be loadin' with it after I'm strewn (ask my lawyer, his language) on the bay.

VT's kicker got outta jail, Tex, but he ain't supposed to leave the commonwealth - among other conditions. Maybe Beamer can get the right folks bribed before the team leaves for their butt kickin' in NO 'n 'e can make the trip. All sounds kinda hokie to me.................

Range trip was fun once the fool insistin' on shooting full .357 Magnum loads, inna closed, six lane indoor, packed up 'n left. But, what the heck he was hittin' the target half the time. My molded ear plugs for CAS were in the station wagon. Next week they'll be in the ammo can with the other stuff 'n I can double up on ear protection if need be.

Soup's goin' good 'n fillin' the air in the breakfastnook/kitchen with an “is it soup yet?” aroma. If I keep makin' 'n eatin' it I'm gonna turn into a vegetable soup can. But I do soooooooooo enjoy it this time ah year.

So much for my nice weather - it got up to about 50 by noon, then the wind started to howl, an hour later it started raining, now it's turned to hail.  Don't remind me much of the end of December.

That RCBS jr was bought used in I think 81.  Broke the handle, RCBS said they didn't have one because it was the old stle, they overnighted me a whole new up-dated linkage set for free, all that's left of the original one is the casting.  Got an almost new one gave to me a while back, it's on brother's bench.  Had a Texan, gave it to one of my blacksmiths.  Got an old Bair C I'll hang onto as a spare, was made in Lincoln, used to visit their outlet store, Western Field and Gun, was about a 1/2 mile from where I went to Jr High, there is an alarm company there now, the shooting tunnel was filled up in the 80's when it had problems.

Got back from break, went up to the WD, boss asked me what mischief I was up too.  He sure has me pegged wrong, I never cause any mischief. Cool

Not you, Del. You're an innocent little angel Huh Roll Eyes

took down the decorations today. Ran the scrubber in the tree area, and moved some stuff ariound in there.

Am bummed, though. Got a message today that my club's shoots at Tusco are suspended. Only said stuff beyond their control. Guess somebody on the host club board got his shorts twisted. The CAS club brought in a lot of shooters from all over as well as contributed money and repairs there. guess I'll have to place a few calls to see what the heck transpired. i'll have to find another venue later. Tusco was about the closest match to me, though...........Buck Undecided Sad Cry

Got a Lyman All American turret from a pawn shop. Don't look like new but it works that way. The primin' arm is busted. Got that way at the pawn shop. What I'd like to set up is the Lyman Spartan I found. That's plenty strong for what I'm doin' 'n the 'C' design leaves nothing to reach around. Just wish I could find a spent primer catcher for it.

Buck, we had an agreement with the folks in Wakefield. We split the take 50/50 with 'em 'n the range was ours on first Saturdays. Then they started actin' like it was their shoot. When they invited a group of  folks to try CAS durin' our half-time – nicely suggestin' they could use our guns and ammo - I threw a freakin' fit. They put up a wall between the half we used and the 100 meter side. We got bullet fragments in it 'n they got all upset. Imagine, a wooden wall kept intact – at a range. Anyway, we had to build shields. They put up red painted plywood arrows indicatin' the area of the berm folks were supposed to use. Those things got shot up inna hurry. We weren't formally blamed but word got back we were suspected. We never came anywhere close to 'em. When their board tried to give permission for someone to do something that violated our rules, after I had denied his request, we found somewhere else to go. He never did get to do it. We're doin' well, makin' more money than we ever did with a management that damned near let's us do anything we want 'n only takes 25%. We let the other range know e'er once inna while. Only downside for us down in the lower right hand corner is it's 75 miles away.

Good luck onna new place.

Would like to end up with a Rockchucker for cheap or free sometime, don't need it right now, but have always wanted a wildcat I had to form cases for.  Don't know why, just do.  Had a chance for a real honey about 15 years ago, did not have enough, despite the price being dang good.  Coil spring High-Wall, 24 inch heavy barrel on it, dang nice walnut on it, proper varmint type stock with cheekpiece, plus all the dies needed, 219 Donaldson Wasp, basicly for those who don't know, between a 223 and a 22-250, formed from 30-30 or 219 Zipper brass, a classic of the late 40's or early 50's.

The N for Knowledge's center got caught passed out in his car in a stop and rob parking lot just before Christmas, motor running.  Got the charges dropped from DWI so he could play the bowl, a lot of folks ain't happy.  Back earlier this year the star for their top ranked ladies VB did a hit and run with a suspended license, got pre-trial diversion, lot a folks ain't happy about that because there were folks injured.

Cawfee is ready. Strong and Hot.  Moose and I watched the Baylor/Washington game last night. It was a high scoring game, which Baylor eventually won. We had chips and dips for the game last night.  No clue for breakfast this morning.

Thanks for the coffee, TLD Wink

Arcey, Talked to our Honcho's right hand last night. Seems theres been friction from the host board for awhile. Honcho just got fed up with it. Last straw was the board demanding that we pick up shotshell wads after matches. Asked right hand if they make the trap boys pick up theirs, got a chuckle out of him. So, 15 years of matches out there down the drain...... Roll Eyes Sad Undecided

Mornin'.

Just a few more days........... I can make it.............

Partly cloudy, 38° 'n 76%. Mostly sunny, with a high near 61°. Southwest wind between 7 and 11 mph.

We bought a leaf blower 'n blow 'em all to the berm, Buck. One of the ownership partners runs IPSC classes on the range 'n they were bustin' their tails on 'em.

Goin' ta the bank later. Start loadin' up some cartridges afterwerds. Think 'bout how I'm gonna fix the Black Eye Peas fer tomorrow. Might stop 'n see what the collards look like it the grocery. Use the Food Lion it Kempsville Plaza 'n see if I can spot a bird er two while I'm o'er that way. There's a pair been seen takin' a rest inna Osprey nest o'er there.

Then again, I might sit here in my underwear 'n finish scribblin' next weekend's shoot......
