I just got it from a friends antique shop a couple hours ago,she got a cork in "er"???I'm thinkin it's a mule packers canteen?It's about 3 gallons..

Looks like one of the older blanket-insulated canteens that date to the Ford Model A era - stripped of the wool.

Not 'old' - not 'new', either - but not of the Old West era.
