Rolling Block Breech Block Needed
« on: November 12, 2011, 09:03:13 PM »
Gentlemen,
Does anyone have a spare breech block for a 1902 Remington Rolling Block with the rotory extractor they would be willing to part with?  I sent my Rolling Block to be rebarreled and I fear the butcher, I mean gunsmith ruined my breech block.  I'm not a happy camper right now.

This fellow advertises Rolling Block parts on the Remington Collectors site-Lee C.Estabrook lestabrook@suddenlink.net or 318-371-1299 in Louisiana.

Another option may be to repair the breech block by tig welding and remachining. This fellow advertises in the Single Shot Exchange-Pete Nagel prnagel@frontier.com or 815-732-1249 in Oregon,Illinois.

Dave Higgenbotham at Lone tar Rifles made me a new breechblock and rotary extractor a few years ago. Cost me about $100 I think - maybe a little more.  Even welded the old thumbpiece to it so everything looked original.

Thanks, Guns!

That's probably what I'll end up doing.
