The idea was to confuse rather than hide. Made it hard to tell the front from the back (bow from stern) and the size and range.

A zippy Red Planet Day, boys 'n girls.
Overcast, 64° 'n 75%. Mostly cloudy with a high near 72°. Southeast wind between 9 and 11 mph.
Read thru 'n looked at lots ah camo measures 'n pret much convinced myownself a bunch ah guys sat 'round a table thinkin'. One of 'em took 'is crayon off the paper 'n said, 'Here. Let's see if they're gullible 'nuff ta use this'n'.
Wonder if they'd even bother taday 'er how much it'd do fer protection. Heck, the Virginia class sub thingys don't even use periscopes namore. Targets are acquired sight-unseen by 'bout anything.
Need ta acquire dinner. Warms it's been, 'n is, I'm thinkin' a salad but it don't seem right it the end of November.

On this unhappy day in war time history, coffee rationin' begins in '42. 'Cordin' ta the socialists t'was all Bush's fault. G'Mornin' ennyways.............
Partly cloudy, 65° 'n 84%. Showers. The rain could be heavy at times. Temperature falling to around 52° by 5pm. South wind 11 to 17 mph becoming west. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Soup werks fer me. Had more yestitty eve. Had sumthin' else in mind but she come home with 'nother migraine. That's two this month.
Meant ta say earlier. The Norfolk Navy Yard's in Portsmouth, not Norfolk, 'n it's no where near where the Enterprise is parked. Ya gotta go south from there, turn left at the coal piers then bear right 'stead ah goin' under the draw bridge. It's on the right, can't miss it – fulla big gray ships.

Sounds like the fat lady. There's an empty cup by the den computer, one side the Lazy Girl chair 'n one on the kitchen counter when she leaves in the mornin' – 'long with a formerly clean spoon fer each.
L'il red one's werkin' on the soup. Other'n that, showerin' up, publicly callin' fer some incompetent government employees' termination 'n goin' ta the grocery I ain't done squat........................
