Gettuing frustrated with the MH. Simple replacement of the MCyl ain't gonna happen. So far no match at the parts store, down to having to have the casting number off the old one. This is a Workhorse chassis, no dealers in the near area, the one I did call looked the serial up, discovered it's got four wheel discs, which I didn't know. Also quoted a price for a new unit, $500+! Shocked..Got a feeling if I do find a remanned, it's going to be at least a couple hundred instead of around $50. Probably a special order meaning a goodly wait, and a real problem if it has to come completely off to get the casting number........... Undecided Angry

Take it off and run it down to Ben's Auto parts down on O Steert and have them rebuild that one.  Opps, they went out of bussiness about 5 years ago and the tore the building down before it fell down.  Another local landmark gone, it used to be the hotel for the Rock Island.  At least the saved the depot and it's now a bank.  Don't have to wait for the dang passanger train to block the main street in town to load and unload passagers any more.

That old crossing has an interesting story, back around 60 or 61 a guy in the Air Force, also played the local bars and a local TV show, Lecil Travis Martin by name, second from the right, used the stage name Marty Martin.

He was waitin' for a Rock Island freight train on day, saw a hobo in an open box car, wrotethe start to a song and used another crewmans name on it.  The song was recorded locally and got some air time, Marty Martin got sent elswhere when the Linconln base closed and got out in 76.  Did pretty good, used the songs title as a stage name, got inducterd into Grand Ol' Opry, got him a place in Branson, died about 12 years ago.  Can't find the song he wrote there, but this one is good enough:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TLTY0cxIVc" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TLTY0cxIVc</a>

Some cowboy friends sang that for Tom Horn before he was hung, I don't sing but I read it at a poem at Dad's funeral.

Didn't solve your problem Buck, but a nice trip down memory lane for me.

Leo, All I can tell you is it's a P-30 chassis, forward control, has the boost from power steering, and it's a four wheel disc set up. 454 chevy running gear, 1990 vntage. 28 ft. Fleetwood Bounder.

Del, You just reminded me that there used to be a place called Brake Specialties back when I used to motor head more. they carried parts and rebuilt calipers and such. Gonna check the phone book and see if they're still around. Been a Loooong time though............Buck Roll Eyes Undecided

Post script: They're gone. did find another small listing for a place over in Massillon, try calling them tomorrow......... Roll Eyes Undecided

Buck, that sounds like a standard "HydroBoost" power brake for a one ton GM truck.  You might check with a local Chevy or GMC dealer.

Del, I met Boxcar in the Baggage claim area at D/FW one night. We were waiting on bags that didn't make our flights. He noticed my badge on my bealt ansd we started talking. He was a boom operator on a K97 tanker in the Air Force and the Air National Guard.  He was stationed at the old Dallas Naval Air Station in an Air National Guard Tanker outfit.

I am fairly sure that Boxcar retired from the Air Force.  The Cawfee is on. It's strong, hot and black. I just opened up a new bag of Arbuckles. It's 45 outside right now.

50 and dark here. Have already had 3 out of four dogs out for their first of the day. Roll Eyes

That is a hydro boost, but none of the dealers here have listing for the Work Horse stuff. Leo, this one  is a reverse of what a standard looking cyl. looks like. Mounting flange faces the front when in place, which puts the lines on the opposite side of the unit from conventional mounted ones. I'll probably move the thing out today and crawl under to see if the casting number is on the bottom of it. My luck it won't be............... Roll Eyes Sad

We just got a nice compliment on the radio.  Local show out of Omaha has an ex global warming person on, one that figured out the BS.  She says she likes Nebraska because we're all sensible about such things.  Scott corrected her and she said we don't have enough nut cases to really count.
