Yes I likey S&W - especially the "classics"

BUT, No...I don't particularly care for the Tiffany grip....wouldn't buy that durn thing if it was marked 50% off  ;)
Unless I had a definite buyer for $103,000.... standing by with the cash in his hand.... and he couldn't run.

Howdy

There were one or two of these on display at the S&W museum when I took the factory tour last year. They were in a glass case so of course I could not handle them, but I got a real good look at them.

Sorry, I think they are just plain ugly. They do not appeal to me at all. Of course this was quite typical of lots of art produced during the Victorian period. Highly ornate, often to the point of being ridiculously overdone. Just my opinion, but I have seen lots of examples of art and decoration from the period that looking at it with today's eyes I think is just plain ugly.

It is interesting to note that the barrel and cylinder have normal engraving. Nothing really out of the ordinary. It looks to me like all that overly done stuff on the frame is actually applied over the frame, and is not integral with the frame. I'll have to take another trip out to Springfield one of these days and have another look.
That’s bad business! How long do you think I’d stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he’d pay me that much to stop robbing him, I’d stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

Oh, it's possible, all right - but only if you're not overly fond of all of your internal organs...

It's doubtful any of these high-grade presentation pieces were ever shot by their owners - but they could be shot if needs be.
