I talked to my wife (a copyright lawyer) and she told me what needs to be done.  Its a pretty straightforward process but I haven't found time to get to it yet.  I've several important GAF issues to be addressed - the GAF Medal is one of them - and I'm getting to them as fast as I can find time, which is also one reason why I'm not posting much at The Barracks.  My trip to the Middle East didn't help.

We have not forgotten. I hope to get the paperwork submitted before the end of the month.

I am in the process of filling out the copyright forms for the Medal, so that we can then produce it ourselves.

The forms are fairly simple.  Its the extensive rules and regulations that I have to wade through that are a problem.  Doing taxes is easier - maybe.

As I am a Division Commander, now, I might have to get one of these for promotional purposes.

I am working to get them back into production - at a cheaper cost than before.  However, we'll still have to deal with the bureaucracy of the US Government once I get the forms submitted.

Here is a photo of the prototype my source made. He has not produced a prototype of the top part with the pin, so I substituted a GAR ribbon top to reflect my position as Dept. Commander. I do realize that I mistakenly sewed the ribbon backwards. It isn't perfect but it gives an Idea what my source is capable of. He has said that He'd like to offer engraving on the back at an additional fee. Even with engraving the final cost should still be considerably less than the original run from Starpacker.
