Is this weapon accurate?

From experience with cap and ball rifles or flintlocks what weapon should I look for used that is accurate at 130 yards.

If you are looking for a traditional style hunting rifle the TC Hawken is very acurate.  If you are looking for something that would fit with a period correct personna it is not the best choice.

If you're shooting patched round ball, 130 yards would be a bit of a stretch.  If you're looking for good advice on muzzleloaders, check out the Muzzleloading Forum.

Accuracy with a muzzleloader depends first on a good gun then on a well developed load for what kind of projectile you are shooting and finally on the person doing the shooting and doing the same thing every time. Use the same thickness of patch the same amount of compression when you are seating the ball and the same measure of powder. They can be accurate for much more than 130 yds. It just takes a little work. WM
