I was watching Tom Horn (Steve McQueen, 1980) over the weekend and about half way through a costuming question hit me: was he wearing a Henley-style shirt or was that the top half of a white Union Suit?  Henleys were around at that time in history, but I'm not sure if they would have been commonly worn in the west.  ...The Union Suit would make sense since it would help act as thermal undies in the cold of Wyoming ...Thoughts?
