I'm looking for well done and rather objective books on Doc and Bat.  Any suggestions?

I appreciated "Doc Holliday, the Life and Legend" by Gary L. Roberts.   I thought it was very well done.

The trouble with books on personalities, or events in the Old West ,is that so much has been written with the author presenting their bias as fact. Very often their writing is so full of prejudice that it may be almost worthles, such as Stuart Lakes book on Wyatt Earp.

What I have found that works very good, is to get as many books as I can on the person, or the subject and study them. I have found that by using that strategy you can come to a pretty good felt awareness about persoalities and events.

That being said, Bison Books  are very good books to buy. Google for Bison books and you can go right to their site...

I'm trying to find a book I read as a child.  The book was about Bat Masterson and one of (I think the first) the chapters was entitled "How to Kill a Man Dead."   If anyone could tell me the  author of this book so that I might buy a copy for my son, I would greatly appreciate it.

I've read "BAT MASTERSON: The Man and the Legend" by Robert K. DeArment. My understanding is, this is the biography to read. I enjoyed it.
