I am at my wits end trying to remember which Colt 1911 is the smallest of the lot prior to the newer Defender.  Grips are right at 3.5" with 2 3/8" between screw holes. HELP...does anyone here know what it is? OK, Drydock, it is time to earn your pay as GAF Ordnance Officer.

Are you thinking of the 'Officer's ACP'?

Yes,...Officers ACP, But be careful with them, some people are having trouble with a steady diet of 230 Ball compressing the recoil springs a lot sooner than a standard 1911 and cracking bushings.....

Not the Officer's ACP as it is only 5/16" shorter than normal 1911 grips. The ones I am referring to are a full 1/2" shorter. Just received an order for the Officer's Model so was able to verify exact size.

To help out a little, the standard mounting screw dimensions are thus:

  Standard 1911   3 1/16"
  Officer's Model   2 11/16"
   ?                    2 3/8"

I got the order for the "little" ones so long ago that the order is either destroyed or buried "DEEP" in the files or I would just refer to it.

Beginning to think it was a Mustang Pocketlite 380 or Colt Gov't 380. Not a real 1911 but sure looks like one.
