Ya wanna see a real Cowboy
« on: September 19, 2011, 01:42:26 PM »
This past week pulled out the wagon to the Cowboy Rendevous at the Cross Creek Cowboy Church in Smyrna,Tx.
My two olders grandkids helped out on the wagon and slept in their soogans with Ole Poppa underneath the stars.
I could  not have asked for better help as we fed about fifty folks breakfast sunday morning after three days of trail rides and Rodeo.
Here is a picture of my oldest grandson  Elijah in his soogan gettin ready to bed doiwn and sneaking a late night snack from the Chuck box.

I thought about "the sugar thief" in Red River too when I saw the picture.
We got bedded down late and the grandaughter Riley  finally talked herself to sleep about two am. I rolled them out at 5am.
I thought that they would be grouchy but they both were hard at it all day.
Satrday night though it was a different story. I think they were asleep before we got their bedrolls fully unrolled.
We woke ip at 5 to a good rain, The first we've had in months, The good Lord shore smiled down on that cowcamp!
I wouldnt take a million dollars for this weekend!
