# 3 S & W Model M&P 340 CT revolver..
Just thinking it would be interesting to see how different people in different part of the country see things..

Bro Cash, I have 2, one is a Taurus Slimline PT 709, the second is a Ruger 357 mag Blackhawk. My wife has a Ruger LCR in 357 mag with 2" barrel. WM

Jay, I like the Ruger SP101 .327 Fed. Also the S&W mod 640 DA in .38 spl+P. As you can see I like revolvers. The .327 is 6 shots of a powerful little round. My wife likes the new S&W 38spl Bodyguard with a lazer sight. See you Saturday at Red Brush. Tj

Disagree. With good leather, I think the 1911 is one of the easier guns to conceal. It is very slim and hugs the body well with a good pancake holster. In Summer, I carry in a Milt Sparks "summer special" IWB rig. With a coat, I alternate between an El Paso Saddlery "tortilla" and a Black Hills' Leather rig.
My smallest is a Colt New Agent:
I am not a big person and I carry this pistol all the time.
Here's a photo of the same pistol for comparison with other frames (Center pistol is a Colt Mustang .380, the New Agent is not much bigger and holds 6 roounds of .45 ACP in the magazine):
In cold weather, when I wear a coat, I do prefer to carry a light weight Commander

If I jump in and say the my favorite carry pistol is a
Smith & Wesson DA .44
, can the thread stay here?
It has a 4 inch barrel and I carry it in a Dave Scott shoulder rig whenever I dress western.
Otherwise, depending on weather and cloting; a Tarus 2 1/2" .44 special, S & W M39 or 59, Ruguer Security Six, etc.
Eventually my Barbeque gun will be a chopped S & W 2nd Model SA .38. (One more session with Jim Downing, and the engraving will be complete; then re-blued and a bead front site installed.)

We just passed concealed carry here in Wisconsin and can't apply for a couple of months yet. With that said I have carried for the 46 years I have been out of the Marines. Never close to being found out. The ironic thing is now that we will be able to legally in just a short time I find myself worried about being caught and not being eligible for the permit
I have 3 1911 pistols but I have only carried one during the Winter. My favorite 45 ACP is a AMT 45 Backup, which is now very reliable. I installed a shotgun bead in the front grove since the only production sighting device is a grove down the top. With it I have managed playing card sized groups at 30 ft. I also have a S&W model 36 and a 638 with Crimson Trace grips, which I really like.
Since we have "open carry" here, which will remain. I have been tempted to open carry one of the big Colts but just haven't talked myself into it.

Since I carry concealed as a part of my job, I have carried a number of guns over the years. My current work gun is a Kimber Pro-Carry HD (stainless 1911). I use a Galco holster under a loose shirt in the summer and under a jacket or sweater in the winter.
On my own time, I still carry the Kimber if I'm wearing a jacket. If I'm dressing light, I usually use a pocket holster. Depending on the pants pocket, I usually carry a Glock 27 or the little Ruger LCP.

Off Duty, concealed, I carry either my Glock 22, because it's the Department gun, or a Colt SAA .45 with 5 1/2" barrel.
I'm a big guy and can get away with carrying nearly anything.

Cowboy guns are for play. Concealed carry is for keeps. When I bet my ass on it, it's a Glock.

I either carry my USP Compact in .40, my Springfield 1911 in .45 (the Champion model), or my Taurus Millennium pistol in .45.
I keep a Ruger LCP .380 in my car console at all times as a backup.

My Grandma's nickle plated 1919 Colt Pocketmatic in original box and mint condition. Similar to the Colt Mustang but more personality. Dilenger had two in his pockets when gunned down. Didn't work for him but I have confidence in the gun.

A Glock 23 on a belt holster, A Glock 27 in a pocket holster, or a Smith 649 in front pants pocket. I like the 1911, but it's too heavy to carry on person. I keep my 1911 and 2 extra mags in the truck console when I'm out in the truck.

I have the CCH licence, but ionly carry on rare occasions, maybe once a month or so. Where Ilive is a quiet suburban neighborhood and we don't have alotof trouble here. On the few occasions that I have to go into some questionable neighborhoods I carry a Bersa UC .45 Pro. It is eight rounds of double action with emphasis on the ACTION. It also has ambidexterous controls and decocker. Being double action, I carry it hammer down (safety notch) on a loaded chamber. It is as safe as any double action revolver, gives me three more rounds than my old model 60 S&W and I have faith in the 230 grain XTP's ahead of 5 grains of Bullseye.

I'm late to this party, but, a Gub'mint 1911 full size. (I'm a large fella) and the backup is a S&W Model 15. I did switch to the 8 round mag with two on the belt. If I'm wearing a coat of any kind, two speed loaders are in the pockets for the Smith.
I guess one day, I'll have to take the course and get certified. What? Uncle Sam didn't teach me good enough?
