Well I pick up my Rossi 92 in 45 LC made by Brazil-tech.

Now let me just say this to get it out of the way.I looked at about 12 Rossi 92 before I found this one most of the one I handle felt chunky clunky way to stiff and like all the innards where grinding. I was not going to buy a 92 but save up for a 73 or 66 at this point. One of the pards told me to look around for a newer model and that the fit was much better. Well he was right. The gun I got was the latest run and is good right out of the box.

OK the Fit and Finish on this gun is quite nice. The bluing is rich and deep color. The site leave allot to be desired the rear is not so bad but the front is a straight post and as useless as and ox at a stud farm. A marble site is 10 bucks from Midway USA and is on order that should do me for now.The wood is plane(no checkering) and flat in it finish. The grain is very pleasing to the eye and looks like if I refinish with a glossier finish and add some checkering it would give the gun an AA appearance.

The action on this gun is a little stiff but no more so then on any new gun. I ran 100 rounds of factory 255 gr flat nose Winchester cowboy load throw it and 100 rounds of 200gr flat nose home grown reloads throw it and it ran perfectly no feed problem or jams.  

I am thinking of putting in the spring kit from Lee ,but will run it this way it is for now. The front site will be put on some time this week and I might change out the rear site as well later. I need a leather rap for the lever and will order it some time next week. I will run this gun into the ground while saving for a 73/66, it will help improve my shooing by making me slow down a little.
 
I high recommend looking at the Rossi 92 for all you newcomer like me this ain't a cheap sport so start slow and build on it. look around like I did and don't buy the first one you see fine the best you can get ..

One or two but they where not smooth and felt real clunky.  Fit and finish wheren't the best either.. I wish I knew they made it in 454 casull. You can shoot 45 lc out of it and hunt with the 454.

I put one of those Lee spring kits in mine and it was the best $15 I ever spent. There's video on youtube that will show you disassembly. It's kind of a pain to get back together.

Popa - Don't lament too much. Buffalo Bore makes a round with a Kieth style bullet - Heavy 45 Colt +P Ammo - 325 gr. L.B.T.-L.F.N. (1,325 fps/M.E. 1,267 ft. lbs.). This is pretty close to .454 Casull velocities. These are loaded past the old SAAMI recomendations for .45 Colt (14,000 psi or 15,900 cup). they will run near 25,000 cup and carry a warning label that they should be fired only in modern pistols with special steel construction such as the Ruger Superblackhawk or several others. Your Rossi mod 92 is more than strong enough to shoot these bullets safely. Rossi retooled their Brazil factory in 2000 to CNC machining & the quality of their firearms improved considerably.
I own 4 Rossi guns - 3 Puma 92 rifles, I SxS shotgun, 1 Rio Grande.
I'm very happy with the performance of each & every one of them.
I wish they'd made a Rossi 1886s in .444 Marlin, .450 Marlin, .45-70 Gvt & .475 Turnbull.
