Front sight on ROA
« on: August 11, 2011, 04:28:17 PM »
I have a ROA stainless that shoots high even with the rear sight all the way down. Is there a replacement front sight blade I can get? Any help would be greately appreciated.

Had one that did the same thing and it's front sight blade was shorter than a friends ROA. I called Ruger and told them the problem and they sent me a taller one.

The new one does not come drilled. It has to be fitted and drilled before installing the pin. Don't try it yourself if you don't have a very good method of doing so such as a very good drill press and vice or a milling machine.

I carefully clamped mine in a mill with a barrel vice and had the new one installed in minutes and problem solved.

If you don't have a way of doing it I would probably send the gun back to Ruger.
