Had one that did the same thing and it's front sight blade was shorter than a friends ROA. I called Ruger and told them the problem and they sent me a taller one.
The new one does not come drilled. It has to be fitted and drilled before installing the pin. Don't try it yourself if you don't have a very good method of doing so such as a very good drill press and vice or a milling machine.
I carefully clamped mine in a mill with a barrel vice and had the new one installed in minutes and problem solved.
If you don't have a way of doing it I would probably send the gun back to Ruger.
