Daughter told me when she lived in Gulfport I'd love it for about a week till I got tired of seafood and wanted beef.  She said Wal-mart here sells better beef than they served in the fancy place she worked in some MGM Casino.

LR, I have never eaten fish at Grady'splace (Riata). The place i was talking about is called Hunter Bros.  We lost all our Red, Hot, and Blue places around here a couple of years ago. They just all closed up. Cracker Barrel is the only place around here that does good fried Catfish. That Hunter Bros place specializes in Steaks, but I always get the Trout.

I hope the heads are still on it. Grin  I've been places that serve trout, I always ask.  If the waitress says no, don't worry they are fillets I order something else.  You can tell if a trouts is fresh by looking into it's eyes. Grin

Not only that, but if you cut the head off all the little bones turn loose from the spine - the head makes a good handle for lifting all of the bones out of a trout in one piece.

Served fried squash and fresh warm rye bread for supper - third loaf of rye bread I've baked in the past two days, thanks again Del Grin

Trout turned out fine on the grill, head on, eyes clear.  Bones zipped right out an I only got one in the whole mess.  Used a sez-a-me ginger marinade all over it.  Mac salad on the side.  Gave Ol' Ron a jar a pickles in return.  We both is happy with the arrangement.

Thanks for the Cawfee this morning. Hot and muggy this morning with no wind.  The weather folks said last night that we could expect some rain soon. I think they lied to us again. They are beginning to sound like politicans. We are now on water rationing. We only get to water on Tues. and Fridays.  No car washing and no hosing off the driveways. We've had to cut down on electrical usage too.  We don't ever have seasons around here, it goes from heat to cold, no fall season. It doesn't get cold around here till after Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Mornin' y'all,
Thanks for the cawfee LR. Got some dutch oven biscuits with country ham flavored with a bit o' sage. Wildfire burnin' out of control near my sister's place. There's a Wild animal rescue in the vicinity, hopin' all are OK. Sister has a couple hoss's, chickens and some dogs at her place. Seems this one started as a rollover car crash.
TLD, we have 2 seasons here also..snow n' road construction, wish I could send you water we got plenty right now. Been on the ration business it ain't no fun.

a watered yard/ lawn, is one you have to mow.  They did those ration type deals here and in Montana both.   No need to worry about me wasting it, I hate mowing.

We don't have much of a back yard to mow, but the front yard is huge. I am going to retire from mowing till the heat wave is over. A guy came by and offered to mow the yards for $35. and the Moose took him up on it. So starting next week, for a while, I won't be mowing the yards. I guess the Moose doesn't want me to die of a heart stroke. But, I am worth more dead than alive.

You are worth more than money ta her Pop.  Take it as a compliment.  Landlords son comes an does the yards once a week so I don't gotta worry about it.  Sprinklers are on a timer so we just have ta worry about the plants on the deck and our veggies.  It almost seems too easy but I always have a cold drink fer the son an his crew.

This'n 100 by 110 'n 115 down the other side er sumthin' like that with the house pret much centered. Back went the first time in the fall. Spring come I started cuttin'. Done half, sat. Done the other half, sat. Did the edger thing, sat. Done the string thing, sat. Done the blower thing, sat. Put it all away, crashed. Couldn't get outta bed the next mornin'. Tolt the fat lady I'd been pushin' a lawn mower since I was nine 'n I'd had 'nuff.

Bad part is the damned back, surgery 'n all, killed almost all my CAS 'n that was nearly ever weekend before the big crunch. Got someone ta cut the yard. Can't find nobody ta shoot cowboy fer me. Mostly why I'm Glockin'. I gotta shoot somethin'.

Really nice out so far. So I'm doin' yard bird noodle in the l'il red one. Two thighs 'n legs from the last rotissery cooked bird 'n a thigh I did a couple weeks ago. One rib a celery 'n a small carrot. All in the stock I salvaged from the batch of parts I did a couple weeks ago 'n froze. The noodles are vermicelli, very fine. Fat lady's in King George, she likes big noodles 'n I ain't got it ta fret.

Just came in from werking on the Dub,Had to pull the tranny out to get at at the broken mounting bolts.Got the first one out using vice grips on the back of the bolt and just screwed it all the way through the hole. Second bolt was a blind hole so I got the drill out and started drilling  got down about 3/16ths and the blot started to thread in.stopped drilling and used a pin punch to unscrew it.Third bolt was missing or was never put in.Called a buddy of mine up to help with the reinstall and we got the tranny back in place in about 10 minutes. From there it was just bolting everything back in place and waiting for my Son to bring home the replacement parts needed to finish the job. Car started up and no leaks so far so Hopefully it will be ok for a while.temps were warm mid to upper 80's, but we had a breeze and the humidity wasn't too bad.
I'm tired and am going to hit the shower,Y'all have a good night.
