Thanks for the Cawfee this morning.  Cold cereal and toast, It's too hot to cook already. The weather folks are not giving us any hope of rain frim the tropical storm coming inland.  The record temp. for us around here is 113. They say we might meet that or beat it next week. We are truly having "The Long, Hot Summer".

Mornin y' all,
Thanks for the cawfee WM. Had 60 mph winds in some spots bring that T-storm in. Brought the 'mater plant in the kitchen.
'Bout 11 lightning sparked fires local news said were quickly doused from rain or firefighters. Sounded pretty mean out.
I sure thought that trpoical storm would give you a bit of relief TLD. 'nother hot day forecast at 100 and it's 65 right now.

Morning y'all.
Thanks fer the coffee, WM.

They are having the GAF Department Of Missouri Muster at Jerry Davenport's(pitspitr) place near Sargent, Nebraska. I made it out there last year, but didn't go this year.  Sleeping in tents and shooting period miltary rifles and pistols.  Too hot for me.
I wish I was there, but illness ate up all my PTO. Maybe next year.

'Tis 80 and sunny. High of 88 and humid.

Got my errands done 'fore the heat of the day strikes.

Yestitty when I was headed back ta the 'burbs from the country I got stuck in traffic. City was repavin' the road. In the middle of the afternoon. I hadn't illegally cut thru a shoppin' center I'd ah still been there.

Drove by the lake this mornin' doin' the errands. It's a Saturday. People are off work 'n wanna do things with their kids. The economy is bad 'n the park 'round the lake is free. Swings fer the kids, grills, picnic tables 'n such. There's a part on the other side of the hill with a skateboard thing, ramps 'n all 'n a kids area with more climb-in-'n-over stuff.  The parkin' area is tiny there 'n folks over flow ta the main lot 'n walk. Restrained dogs are allowed. What's the city doin'? They're pavin' the entrance 'n exit ta the main parkin' lot.

Hope Stuart lives far away from duh beach, Leo. This place is friggin' nuts..........

That's kinda the upper right. Duh beach is in the lower right. Ali lives thirty sum odd miles east of Fredericksberg. That's what she refers to as "town".

Thanks, didn't have a chance ta look at a map this mornin.  Guess Spotsylvania Courthouse is a little farther ta the right an a little lower than Fredericksberg.  First time I ever heard of the place but I hear it is nice.

Under it's fair. Ya gottah go thru Spotsylvania ta get to either from here. Will say that's one beautiful place in this world to these old eyes.

Strange, Ali 'n Andi. There ain't no way in hell Ali would willingly move back here. Ya'd have ta drag Andi kickin', screamin' 'n fightin' away from here. I'd be happy if we could change the place back ta where it was when I left Norfolk for here in '80. It was really nice back then. Too many carpet baggers with too much money moved in 'n bought the politicians.

Where we was livin bafore we had too many a what we call flat landers come up with their money an bought the politicians an real estate.  Don't seem ta be a problem round here, least fer now.  We still make deals on a handshake an all is fine.

Hope I don't bore y'all too bad with the birds.

This is about the best video I've seen of the release. The first two birds were in for rehab. One was hung inna net, the other was emaciated. That bird was the fattest of the five when she was cut loose.

The last three were the Norfolk Botanical Garden birds. The trio that lost their mother, were taken from the nest 'n sent to Waynesboro. The first was NZ, the big sister. The second was NX, l'il sister, who was worn out so bad she couldn't get away after the fittin' of the transmitter. She's back in a cage at Waynesboro. The last was NV. The little brother. He's a ham 'n just as full of hisownself as he can be. The boy put on the best show of any of 'em.

The DGIF had a rescue boat on the river. Two guys on it. They said Z flew until she was outta sight. V, they said, took outta there like a rocket.

Had a little rain this afternoon, then the sun came back out.
Found a ground bee's nest. Took care of 'em with paint thinner, a torch, and a shovel without getting stung.
Got herbicide that will kill poison ivy and sprayed as much of it as I could without stepping into it.
