Llama 1911 SASS wild bunch legal or not?
« on: June 15, 2011, 05:45:04 PM »
Here's my 1911 type pistol.  I am wondering if it would be legal in a SASS rules match?  I have used it at a local match and the GAF  expansion era matches.  I like the 2-tone look.  the dig difference is in the shape of the lower front part of the slide.  no funtional difference just not as streamliined as the colts.  I want to get another 1911 but can't afford a GI 1911 right now.

I have never seen one of these, but it looks ok to me from what I can tell from your pics.  Really can't see the difference you are describing in the slide, however.  Might have to change out the grips if they are rubber.  Two tone is not an issue.

I would go to the SASS WBAS website and ask Happy Jack or Pacos Clyde for an official ruling from the fellas that wrote the rules.
