This has probably been covered but...I was just was checking out the online Shootist and got to thinking (not a good thing at times)... What do you all think about just having the magazine be strictly an online thing?? One thing I like is that I can copy and paste the info I need from it..and it sure beats having a pile of magazines stacking up... It would save NCOWS a lot of money in printing and mailing costs and

Besides that you are stuck doing your reading where your computor is or you have to print it.

I think for the reasons that John and Joss said it is best to have it available both ways.
I just subscribed to
"Concealed Carry Magazine"
and they sent me all the back issues on a CD. It is better than nothing and much easier to store but kind of a pain when reading and I can't take it to the John with me.
The magazine is in the Java format and I can't cut and paste it for some reason.
Perhaps we could think of putting back issues of "The Shootist" on CDs. and have them for sale. If I remember right most were put on discs or floppies before they went to the printer.

I like having the hard copy, but would like having access to each issue on-line so I can cope when I get just an empty mailing wrapper and no magazine -- as happened a few days ago ..

Long Juan here. I am resurrecting this thread to see if anyone has all back issues of The Shootist or we could collectively find them, have them copied and then made available for download or CD purchase? This is a follow-up on my inquiries about Will Ghormley's articles on making holsters, belts, etc. that appeared in various issues of The Shootist in the late 90s and early 2000s. I am thinking that access to all back issues might be a great resource for anyone interest in what NCOWS stands for - authentic Old West shooting, etc. I would be happy to help with this project if anyone else thinks it is worthwhile and we can get hold of back issues to use for making the copies.

How about a john that is like a plane seat that would have a fold away table and an outlet for your laptop. Then you would be able to read an electronic copy of the shootiest and then American Rifleman which they have a nice online copy that I get now.
