After two consecutive rainouts, I finally got to shoot with JCR today and I had a great time!

Hey T Joe, Take a look at J. D. Goodguy's hat. Now he looks like he has just come in off the range and has had that hat for awhile. What you think? Tj

The guy shooting, third picture down (sorry meet him, but I'm bad remembering names until I've talked to them more than once) was the one I was looking for myself. Just loved that style of hat and bought one close but a bit higher crown which I hope to get blocked like his. His also is narrower at the base of the crown than the top.

joec, That looks a lot like a Wyatt Earp. I've seen several in black. You are right that is a good looking hat. Tj

Yes but the Wyatt Earp has a larger brim at lease those I looked at on the net. The one I settle on was the http://www.wwmerc.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=4162&type=store&category=6100 with a basic pattern that dates back to the 1840's. I did find the same hat as him when I finely got a copy of the Wild West Mercantile paper catalog as a some things they handle aren't on their site. His hat is about a 4.5" crown with a 4.5" brim while mine is the same brim but a 5" crown and straight sided.
