Mornin, y'all.

Keep thinkin' 'bout a story ole Bob, my next door neighbor, tells of bein' in Philadelphia growin' up. The family lived inna row house. There were blocks of 'em. Sez ya walked down the block 'n there'd be a Gold Star, capitalization intended, inna window that wasn't there the last time ya looked. I can't imagine the grief, the pain suffered by those waitin' at home.

WW II, there were a lot of GoldStars. I knew a Gold Star mother, ever knew the connection until much later. Her son was a friend of my Mom's from school. His death lead directly to my parents meeting Shocked

Ninety without a breath of breeze. Wasn't gonna stand outside to grill. Did Hebrew Nationals on the cooktop under a ceilin' fan. They went on room temp buns with dirty mustard. Toss some Lay's potato chips onna paper plate, tea inna plastic cup - supper.

Wasn't gonna mention it 'til it was over. It was over a l'il past five on the right coast. Wasn't selected for jury duty a single day. I stood for the month of May. Reckon no one wants a broke down, old retired cop sittin' in the box. Guess I'll take the sports jacket 'n the parkin' pass for the restricted lot at the court house out the station wagon.

Now come on Arcey, think like a lawyer, if you was defending some scum-bag would you want an honest ex-cop  one who hates scum-bags on the jury or would you want some bleeding heart Liberal who thinks every problem POS has someone else to blame, to be on a jury?

Sausage gravy and bisquits for supper.  Went out to Rita's brother's a while this afternoon, Rowdy got to spend some time with his Mommy.  He spent a good 1/2 hour swimming in laps around a small pond trying to catch a big Mallard drake, everytime he got close it would fly to the other end of the pond, not sure who had the most fun, Rowdy or the duck. Griilled steak with Caribbean marinade.  Sliced thin once it was done.  Mac 'n' cheese an sweet tater fries.

Angel swam in the pond too taday chasin ducks.  She flushes em out an then just swims with them once they set back down.  Thinkin her an Rowdy would have a ball tagether.
