Hey Hairy, glad ya dropped in. Always good ta drop a warnin when we see something out here.
I've had more fun shootin with ma girls than the boys. They is more careful an pay more attention in my sperience. If it's a girl I'll be proud ta take her out ta plink with a .22. Next ya know I'd be callin her Center Fire Sally an lettin her shoot the good stuff. Cleanin drills an all that like the rest of em. I have to say I have never had a member of the fairer sex sweep me but the boys all caught hell for doin that. All got mad at me cause they "knew it weren't loaded".

Spuds cuz is gonna be a girl. Gotta say that pleases me. Thinkin 'er dad will have a little more respect raisin a girl than a clone of his self. Can see him tellin a boy ta go scrap but protecting a girl from them things an that suits me fine.

Had me two girls. If I had to do it over they'd still be girls. They both can shoot. Neither of 'em took ta much recoil.
The wimmen folks left me ta sit my grand girl yesterday mornin'. Took the grand boys with 'em. Laney 'n I sat out in the drive with an RCBS hand tool 'n primed 9mm cases. She'll be ten come October.

Laney's mother. My first born, Ali. Taught 'er ta drive inna '90 F-150. Decided ta kill two birds with one stone. Had 'er drive us ta the range one afternoon. Do a l'il shootin'.
We get there. I get out 'n drop the cable. She drives thru to the gate, ain't far. I unlock 'n open the gate. She drives thru. I locked the gate behind us, turn 'n look - no truck. She'd driven on down to the parkin' area. 'Bout three hundred yards from the gate.
I walk on down 'n there she sits. Truck in park, motor runnin', windows up 'n the AC goin' - just waitin' on me............

Some of us got it in 'em to tolerate the tough enough & some don't.... I'll go as high as the the .44 mag but I felt I reached my max..and won't shoot more than a full cylinder..Was not scared off...but dad wa also 'inta speed with the boats... was recently treated to memories with shootin' lessons and 100mph on Lake Hartwell...done bein' scared was what I told 'im

Think a lot of Dads want a l'il Tom Boy in their girls.
Andi, the l'il one, wanted a trapeze. Bought 'er one 'n hung it from the swing set. She pulled 'erself up 'n sat on it right off. Next thing I know she's hangin' by 'er knees 'n swingin. That's what she was doin' when the fat lady came home. Man, did I catch it for teachin' 'er that 'n I didn't teach 'er to do that. She just kinda knew.
Tex, after that trick I'd ah charged 'er double.

I caught it good some time back with the ex. Found a black widder outside an afore I kilt it I wanted ma girls ta see the markins on the belly so they would know what ta watch out fer. Mother of all evil pulled up right about then an threw a blue fit. Girls got pulled inside while I hosed the spider down. They wern't never in danger, the thing was nested up in a bush.
Had chokes an sweet tater fries (but they was baked so I guess they wasn't really fries) fer supper. Have ta say I enjoyed em.

Mornin Ya'll, Coffee's up. Loaded up 100+ rounds for the 45-70 last nite 60g Dupont 2f, emptied the last can I had of that. Had some Goex 2f from '76 that was giving me any average velocity of 1248 with a 405 g rnfp, according ta the Goex load chart supposed ta be 1180. Loaded up some with some of the new Goex, think I better run that thru the chrono see what I come up with. Got a ballistics calculator that says 55g should be the most accurate for that rifle. I believe it, yesterday I shot 60, 65, and 70g at 50, 100, and 125 yds. 60gs was the most consistant at all 3 yardages. I was a little surprised at the 70g load it was actually low at 125 yds. WM

Yessir I did one of the first times I shot it. Right after I bought it in AZ I shot it at 300 yds. the group was 8" top ta bottom and 2 3/4" left ta right. I honestly don't think I will ever shoot it that good again. But that was loaded with some pre 1970 Dupont 2 F that I got at a shoot last summer. That was six rounds. WM
